Soul Yoga Fest has expanded our emphasis to include more natural food vendors, workshops in vegan and raw food preparation as well as more dance, martial arts and other types of movement arts. The annual Yoga festival which was created by Master Kemetic Yoga Instructor and founder of the global Kemetic Yoga Movement, Yirser Ra Hotep-Lawrence to introduce Yoga, especially Kemetic Yoga from the cultural perspective of Africa, to communities that otherwise would not know of Yoga, do not have access to it, nor know of its African and Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) roots. Soul Yoga Fest are held in Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Paris, South Africa and Jamaica. Soul Yoga Fest is open to all persons interested in Yoga, Meditation, Health, Nutrition and Fitness.
Friday July 13th, 6 to 9 PM: Awards Dinner & Keynote Speech Featuring the Great African Historian: Dr. Runoko Rashidi speaking on the Global African Presence and where we go from here. Join us as we honor Dr. Rashidi for a life time of achievement as an African historian. Currently he has traveled to over 120 countries on this planet to document the achievements and contributions of Black people that have been intentionally written out of history.

Outdoor classes at beautiful Fuller Park – for children, adults, special class for men; indoor classes for seniors. Bring your Yoga mat and/or a towel. Chandler – The Alchemy of Inner Empowerment: Chi Qong & Energy Healing; Jill Minard – YogaSkills Method for Flexibility, Coordination & Balance; Kwesi Karamoko, Ausarian Tantric Yoga & Joints and Glands; Kassandra Kernisian – Kemetic Yoga & Healing the Sacred Feminine and Khalidah Kali – North African Belly Dance.

Sunday, July 15: Tour of the Ancient Egyptian Wing of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago led by Dr. Runoko Rashidi
University of Chicago Oriental Institute, 1155 E 58th St, Chicago, IL 60637, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, $40.00. Led by Runoko Rashidi, Explore the history, spiritual science and lessons from ancient Egypt (Kemet). This tour will be a study tour for young people and those who are older that will open your eyes to the greatness of African people and our contribution to world history
